Ranger’s Apprentice – Book Six – Review

May 29, 2019 by Jazzy

If you enjoy a book with excitement, daring exploits, and heroic heroes, then you will love The Siege of Macindaw.

Will starts to put together an army, determined to save Alyss and Castle Macindaw.

But how can he put together an army when most of Castle Macindaw’s loyal guards have left the area.

The answer comes in the form of a Skandian captian who goes by the name of Gunder Hardstriker. Gunder and his men were shipwrecked.

Stranded and with two men dead, they have no way of getting home. Things have never looked so bleak.

Until, to Gunder’s surprise and delight, Will Treaty shows up. Will needs his help.

In The Sorcerer of the North, Halt and Crowley worried that Will might need help. They decided to send Horace to Will.

Reunited, the two friends are delighted to see each other again.

Will is relieved to have some one on his side who knows a bit more about how to take a castle.

Together, with the help of Malcolm, they find a way to rescue Alyss and to regain the Castle.

But how can they take over a castle with only twenty-seven men?

They must find a solution and quickly before the Scotti come take over Castle Macindaw and from there all of Norgate Fief.

I like The Siege of Macindaw because it has a lot of what I want in a medieval type book: adventure, good characters, good versus evil, and an underdog.
