Ranger’s Apprentice – Book Two – Review

May 24, 2019 by Jazzy

The Burning Bridge is the second book in this exciting, adventure filled series.

The kingdom of Araluen is busy preparing for war against the evil Morgarath and his mind controlled minions, the Wargals.

The king and the rangers gather the army and information to aid them in the war. But, Halt has decided that Will needs some time with people his own age.

The perfect opportunity just arrived. Gilan, tasked with forming an embassy to Celtica, is glad to have Will along.

Things get even better when it is decided that Horace will join them too.

As Will, Horace, and Gilan travel deeper into Celtica it isn’t long before they realize that something is drastically wrong. Everywhere they visit is completely deserted.

They meet a young girl who claims that Wargals have been invading Celtica.

The few that escaped, went to the Southwest Peninsula where it is being defended by King Swyddned.

With King Swyddned’s army busy defending themselves they are unable to help King Duncan in his battle for Araluen.

Gilan decides to ride on ahead to warn King Duncan of this new turn of events.

Will, Horace, and the young girl, Evanlyn, travel back to Araluen. They unexpectedly run into a group of Wargals while they are escorting Celtica miner prisoners.

But why would Morgarath need Celtica miners as prisoners, and where are the Wargals taking them?

Don’t miss out on this next exciting adventure by John Flanagan, The Burning Bridge.

I really like how John Flanagan writes books full of action and excitement. I also enjoy reading the funny dialogue between his characters.

The Burning Bridge is a great read and full of fun and adventure.
